On the night of September 28, Kyiv suffered its most powerful drone and missile attack in recent memory. During the shelling, 52-year-old Ilona Revut died in a shelter—she couldn’t cope with the stress and her heart stopped.

According to the head of the Kyiv City State Defense Army, Timur Tkachenko, four civilians were killed and 23 were wounded in the capital. Among the dead was 12-year-old schoolgirl Oleksandra from the Solomyansky district. The Institute of Cardiology was also hit, killing patients and doctors.
Ilona Revut’s colleagues said she led an active lifestyle and had no serious health problems, but she took each attack very hard.

Devastation in Kyiv
In the Solomyansky district, 27 buildings were damaged, including nine private homes. Overall, about a thousand windows were blown out across the city. Aid centers operated in the Solomianskyi and Darnytskyi districts: over 500 people received assistance, and some families were temporarily relocated to dormitories.

Scale of the attack
Overnight, Russian forces launched nearly 600 drones and 48 missiles at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 568 drones and 43 missiles. The shelling targeted Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as the Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, and Odesa regions.
