NATO begins exercise on troop transfer to Lithuania.
On Saturday, September 13, NATO began large-scale exercises “Grand Eagle 25”, the main objective of which is to test the speed and coordination of the transfer of troops and military equipment to Lithuania. This was reported by the Allied Joint Force Command, based in the Netherlands.
The official statement says that the exercises are aimed at strengthening the bloc’s eastern flank, as well as increasing the level of combat readiness and interoperability of allies.
“The exercises have already started! NATO is practicing the rapid and coordinated transfer of troops and equipment to Lithuania,” the command emphasized.

NATO’s reaction to Russia’s actions
Earlier, on the night of August 10, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine. On the same day, several Russian drones invaded Polish airspace. According to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at least 19 border violations were recorded. Polish air defense forces destroyed 4 drones, and the wreckage of 16 more was found on the territory of the country.
Against the backdrop of these events, NATO has increased its attention to the defense of Eastern Europe. The Secretary General of the Alliance Mark Rutte announced the launch of Operation Eastern Guard, aimed at strengthening the security of the region.
What is known about the forces involved
Allied countries are already actively participating in the operation and exercises. The Polish General Staff showed footage of the arrival of a French A-400 transport aircraft, which delivered weapons for Rafale fighters. These aircraft are already on duty at Polish airfields.
Denmark, France, Great Britain and Germany have also joined the operation, deploying their contingents to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.
