Tottenham Hotspur will be without Destiny Udogie for their Premier League opener against Burnley, as the Italian full-back continues his recovery from a knee injury sustained in July. Despite missing a significant portion of pre-season, Udogie has been working diligently to make a comeback but will not be fit for the Burnley clash. Manager Thomas Frank confirmed Udogie’s absence from the squad, stating, “Destiny is progressing but it’s too early for him to be involved in the squad.” However, there is positive news for Tottenham as Yves Bissouma is set to return to the matchday squad after missing the Super Cup due to disciplinary reasons. “Bissouma was a situation. I addressed it, there was a consequence. He will be in the squad tomorrow,” Frank announced, indicating Bissouma’s availability for the upcoming game against Burnley. While preparations intensify for the league opener, Tottenham is also actively pursuing reinforcements in the transfer market. Talks have been initiated with Crystal Palace for the potential acquisition of attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze. Frank emphasized that the club is not solely focused on one position but is looking to strengthen the squad overall. “We are looking, of course, in the market. Not only for the No. 10 position but just to see if we can strengthen the squad. The players we are looking at are only players we think can improve the squad,” Frank stated. “If we can pick the right player and it fits, then we will do something.” In the midst of player updates and transfer negotiations, Tottenham remains committed to enhancing its squad ahead of the new season. The anticipation builds as fans eagerly await the team’s performance in the upcoming matches.
