Trump sent Putin a letter of gratitude on the day of the large-scale attack on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump expressed gratitude to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin for his remarks about who deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump thanked Putin for praise on the day of the missile attack on Ukraine

During a meeting with reporters, the Kremlin leader stated that it was not his place to decide who should receive the Nobel Prize. He noted that there have been cases in history where the award was given to people who “did nothing for peace,” which, in Putin’s view, undermined the prize’s prestige.

“Whether the current US president deserves the Nobel Prize, I don’t know. But he is truly doing a lot to resolve complex crises that have dragged on for decades. In particular, on the issue of Ukraine, he sincerely strives for peace. Perhaps we will be able to achieve more based on the agreements in Anchorage,” Putin said.

Trump’s Reaction

In response, Donald Trump shared a video of Putin’s speech on his social media account, Truth Social, captioning the post:
“Thank you, President Putin.”

Curiously, on that very day, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado received the Nobel Peace Prize.
