In a display of resilience and strategic defense, Ukraine successfully thwarted a Russian attack utilizing 45 UAVs and missiles, resulting in the downing of 24 drones and hits recorded at 12 locations.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force on Telegram, the attack on the night of 13-14 August involved two S-300/400 anti-aircraft missiles and a combination of Shahed-type loitering munitions and decoy drones.
The targeted areas included frontline regions in Donetsk and Chernihiv oblasts, with Sumy Oblast being the focus of the missile strikes.
Early reports indicate that Ukrainian air defense units effectively neutralized the threat, shooting down and jamming 24 UAVs and decoy drones in the north and east regions by 09:00.
Furthermore, 21 UAVs were successfully intercepted before reaching their intended targets across the 12 locations.
The swift and coordinated response was credited to Ukrainian aircraft, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups from the defense forces, ensuring the protection and security of the Ukrainian airspace.
Ukraine’s defense forces have once again demonstrated their capability to repel hostile attacks and safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.
