The United States is discussing the possibility of issuing a new dollar coin to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding. According to Fox Business, citing a US Treasury Department spokesperson, one of the design options includes an image of President Donald Trump.

According to the source, the final design for the commemorative coin has not yet been finalized, but the submitted sketch “symbolizes the resilience of the American spirit and democracy even in the face of severe trials.”
The published sketch depicts Trump against the backdrop of an American flag, his fist raised. The image is reminiscent of footage from the 2024 Pennsylvania rally, when the president was assassinated and escorted offstage by the Secret Service.
Trump previously found himself at the center of controversy after demanding the removal of his portrait from the Gallery of American Leaders in the Colorado State Capitol. He claimed the artist’s work was “the worst” and did not reflect his image.
Therefore, the upcoming commemorative coin featuring his image could become yet another controversial topic surrounding the current president.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he considered it an insult to the United States that he was denied the Nobel Peace Prize for his diplomatic efforts. He claimed that his initiative had already helped end seven international conflicts, and the Gaza agreement could be the eighth.
